Intro to Counseling Course [Psy201]
Most every person from time to time looks to their pastor or another trusted Christian leader for some manner of counseling. Most mature Christians, especially those in some position of leadership, understand the principles of successful Christian living and decision making, but they don't always have the confidence or fundamental training to impart those principles to others in ways that they can practically apply.
Introduction to Counseling helps bridge this gap through an approach that focuses more on relationship rather than the more common formal interview process. In this class, students will gain the understanding that counseling is primarily about helping people apply the truth of scripture and the healing power of the cross to their lives. This course will explain what counseling is; what the Bible says about counseling; how that compares to secular counseling; and equip you to perform Common Care Counseling. Much of the course will challenge your notion of what counseling really means and who can provide it. It's created in a way that any Christian can grow in their ability to help others in their walk with Christ.
